Silling Architects Chosen To Design New Sheriff’s Department
WVVA – Beckley, West Virginia
An architect has been chosen to begin work on a new Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department. Silling Architects of Charleston was picked by the Raleigh County Commission in late October to complete the preliminary work and site evaluation for the project to be located near Beckley Stratton Middle School.
According to Steve Davis, on the committee to study the project, the cost for evaluation will be credited to the construction of the project if a decision is made to move forward on construction with the same company. Once the preliminary studies are complete, he said the commission should have a better idea of the cost. “All of that has to be done before you come up with a budget. Silling will do that work and hopefully be done by the end of the year.”
Davis said the company was also responsible for the design of the new Raleigh County Judicial Center. He said the hope is to break ground on the project in May of 2020.
