Orange County Courthouse at Winter Park

The previous Orange County satellite courthouse located in Winter Park, Florida was located in an older strip shopping center and, over time, had become both deficient in size and in security measures. Looking to the future, the County purchased an existing one-story building a few miles away that could provide a more ideal location within the community and better accommodate the future needs of both the clerk and courts.

Completed in 2025 under a limited budget, Silling created a successful renovation of a 20-year-old, 33,980 square foot former office/warehouse building that included an all-new interior fit out for the Clerk of Court, traffic and civil courtroom, judges’ chambers, jury assembly, and supporting office and functions. Included in the interior design is the provisions for the segregated circulations systems of the public, courts and staff and the movement of remanded individuals. A new large clerk waiting area and payment area is provided. Other improvements included all new mechanical systems, security systems, all new exterior glazing systems, and a new roof. Supporting the interior functions are segregated parking areas for the public, staff and judges, as well as a new marquee entry sign, canopy, and a new entry plaza that reinforces the civic presentation and nature of the courts.

With this investment by the County and careful planning by Silling, this fully renovated building is anticipated to successfully serve the Clerk, Courts and taxpayers of east Orange County for many years to come.
