The church leadership described their vision for a new worship campus as a natural, wooded retreat in the city – experientially a place where your heart can slow down. The design solution for the Bible Center, while rooted in a contextually familiar vocabulary, evolved into an extremely unique architectural response for the traditional church. Entry procession from the canopy through the pre-function gathering space is lodge-like in character and inviting. The flexible main worship space combines interior design, audio-visual technology, and stunning views to promote collective worship and support highly effective teaching.
Purposed to reach all people, the project explores form and materiality, light and acoustics, space and experience in a way that connect with young and old, masculine and feminine, member and visitor, sinner and saint.
